Obituary

Lydianne R. Corriveau, 97, formerly of Logee St. Woonsocket died peacefully Sunday December 11, 2016 at The Friendly Home. She was the loving wife of the late Lucien F. Corriveau who passed away in 1989.
Born in Les Eboulements P.Q. Canada she was a daughter of the late Francois and Lucia (Simard) Gaudreault. She resided in Woonsocket since 1957.
During WWII, as a home front worker, Lydianne and her sisters worked at the parachute plant in Montreal in support of the war effort. During her years in Woonsocket she was employed at Art Garment.
Mrs. Corriveau was a longtime communicant of St. Agatha Parish. Lyidanne was very active in many aspects of parish life including volunteering for the annual bazaar and assisting with the preparations for Mass and sacramental life of the parish. She was a member of the Franco- American Club. She was a skilled knitter and traveled with her husband to a number of destinations.
Lydianne’s lasting legacy is her love for her family and devotion to her church.
She is survived by two sons Jacques C. Corriveau and his wife, Claire, of California and Gerard R. Corriveau and his partner, Jennifer Bowdoin, of Assonet, MA., a daughter Carmen A. Descoteaux and her husband, Richard, of Cumberland. She was the mother of the late Celine (Corriveau) Souza who passed away in 1972. She is also survived by 4 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 22 great and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was the sister of Francoise Roy of Montreal the late Georges, Raymond, Joseph and Roland Gaudreault, Claire Lavoie, Cecile Tremblay, Adrienne Bibeau and Jacqueline Cote.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Agatha Church, Fairfield Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7 pm.
