Obituary

WORCESTER___Leonas Nalivaika, 92, of Worcester, died on Monday December 12, 2016 with his family at his side after a short period of declining health.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Helen (Andruiskevicius) Nalivaika, a daughter, Ellen A. Nalivaika, a son Leo A. Nalivaika and his wife Kathleen, three grandchildren, Kristin, Alison and Andrew Nalivaika and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Michael, Alphonse, Walter, Natalia and Anastasia. He was born in Svencionys, Lithuania a son of Joseph and Anele (Dukelis) Nalivaika and has lived here for many years.

Mr. Nalivaika was a machinist for many years and retired from O.S. Walker Co. He was a member of the former St. Casimir Church and was a member of its Choir. Mr. Nalivaika was also a member of the Lithuanian Charitable Society – Maironis Park and was a member of Ratelis. Leonas enjoyed gardening in his vegetable garden. Blessed with gifted hands, he was able to execute fine finish work to “fixing” things. Family was important and spending time with his was central to his life.

The service will be held on Friday December 16, 2016 at 11:30 AM in DIRSA – MORIN FUNERAL HOME 298 Grafton St. Burial will be Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will held on Friday December 16, 2016 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony’s Franciscan Monastery, P.O. Box 273, Kennebunk, ME 04043 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
