Lorraine M. Hebert, 89, of Woonsocket died Monday December 12, 2016 at The Holiday in Manville. She was the loving wife of the late Paul M. Hebert. They were married in 1947 and shared over 37 years together until his passing in 1984.
Born in Burlington, Vermont she was a daughter of the late Paul and Regina (Paulhus) Bouchard. Lorraine’s father moved the family from Vermont to Florida when she was very young and she was raised in the Sunshine state. The family returned to New England in 1941 and settled in Woonsocket with relatives. Lorraine remained a lifelong resident of the city.
She was employed at the French worsted mill as a spinner. She later worked in the cafeteria at Ponagansett High School.
Lorraine was prolific at crocheting… she was a bingo animal… Everybody loved Lorraine and Lorraine loved everybody back.
She is survived by two daughters Suzanne D. Houle and her husband, Paul, and Helen C. Carpenter and her husband, Donald, all of Woonsocket. She was the mother of the late Roger V. Hebert who passed away in 2003. She was the sister of James Bouchard of Woonsocket and the late Paul Bouchard. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 step-granddaughters, 3 nieces, 1 nephew and their families.
Her funeral service will be Friday at 10:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 8:30-10:00 am prior to services.
