Muriel L. (Wainwright) Torchia, age 82, of Easton, died unexpectedly December 9, 2016, a week after celebrating her eighty-second birthday. Muriel was the beloved wife for 60 years of Thomas J. Torchia. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Louise (Turner) Wainwright. She attended Brockton Public Schools, Oak Grove School for Girls in Vassalboro, Maine, Syracuse University and Chandler School for Women in Boston.
She was a consummate musician with remarkable talent. She played piano and sang the Great American Song Book as well as her own compositions, not only locally, but professionally, beginning in Davis California, shortly after in her marriage in 1956.
In addition to her husband Tom, she is survived by her three children, Anthony of Los Angeles, CA, Michael of Cape Cod, and Theresa of Newton and her brothers Richard of Brockton and Stephen of Easton. She was predeceased by her brother William.
