Kaye Frederick Woolington (also known as Coach, LeRoy, Pops, Snookie), husband for 61 years of Jacqueline Douglas Woolington, 80, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
Graveside services will be held at noon Thursday, December 15th at Westover Memorial Park officiated by his son, John D. Woolington. The family will receive friends following the service.
Kaye was born on November 26, 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida. He is the son of the late William Andrew “Duke” Woolington and Dorothy Hale Woolington. He is also survived by 3 sons, Kaye F. Woolington, Jr. (Debbie), Andrew “Zach” Woolington and John D. Woolington (Katie), brother, William Andrew “Andy” Woolington, Jr., nephew, Trey Woolington, and niece, Vicky Woolington. He leaves behind a legacy of 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Jackie and Kaye began their relationship as childhood friends. They were married December, 1955 and spent their life together for 61 years. Kaye was committed to a career in paper sales and worked for several companies. In 1971, he came to Augusta to join up with Dillard Paper Company where he remained until his retirement. Kaye is a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. It was out of that fellowship and their youth ministry outreach that led him to rededicate his life to Christ in 1982. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, and football.
