Nancy (McKendry) Arndt, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 10th, 2016. She was born on March 9, 1937 in Coatbridge, Scotland. Nancy met her husband Franz on the job, while working as a bookkeeper for Volkswagen in Glasgow, Scotland. They married on March 30, 1957, in Glasgow and moved to the U.S.A. in 1958. Nancy worked in the Andover School District in various positions for over 30 years. She enjoyed spend her time in the various schools where she became a beloved member of the Andover community. She is survived by her husband, Franz, and two children Karine Matacchiera and her husband Peter, and Franz K. Ardnt. Nancy also had three granddaughters Janeen, Kara, and Kristine. In addition, Nancy leaves behind, Teddy, her bison-poodle mix, who she refereed to as her "third child." She is predeceased by her parents Agnes and James McKendry and three siblings.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Thursday, December 15th, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack Street, North Andover, MA. Her funeral service will take place on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, MA. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude's or the American Cancer Society.
