SMITH, Robert M. Of Wellesley and Otisfield, ME, December 12, 2016. Beloved husband of Joanne H. (Hickson) Smith for 59 years. Devoted father of Janet Smith Idzal and her husband Joseph of Natick, Holly T. Smith of Wellesley, and the late Scott R. Smith. Grandfather of Michael K. Idzal. Brother of Calvin Smith of Charleston, ME, and the late John Smith and Carolyn Polyot. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Robert was a Korean War Veteran, U.S. Navy. Retired Vice President and Civil Engineer for Fay, Spofford & Thorndike of Burlington. Graduate of the University of Maine at Orono. Avid hunter, fisherman, and woodworker, and loved to spend time with his family on Thompson Lake in Maine.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., WELLESLEY, Thursday, Dec. 15 from 4-8pm. Funeral service in the funeral home, Friday, Dec. 16 at 11:30am.
