Obituary

Mr. Frank J. Kolodgy, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved husband of the late Mary A. (Lynch) Kolodgy, passed away suddenly at the Healthalliance Hospital in Leominster on Saturday, December 10, 2016. He was 83 years old.
As a young man growing up in Florida, he was a stock car racer and later worked for Randall Eastern Ambulance Co., before moving to Andover. He dedicated his life to helping others, retiring in 1988 after 22 years with the Andover Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT and was a Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Field Medic with the 114th Medical Yankee Division of the MA ARNG. He was an active member of the American Legion and at one time served as Commander of the YD Veterans Association. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, had been an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Communion and was a volunteer at the Hanscom AFB pharmacy. He had also served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
In his spare time, Frank enjoyed fishing, traveling and tinkering.
Frank was the son of the late Charles S. and Maebelle (Chandler) Kolodgy. He was the brother of the late Phyliss, Thomas, Dwight and John.
He is survived by his sons Timothy and his wife Terry Kolodgy of Merrimac, Charles and his wife Jacquelyn Kolodgy of Clinton; daughter Jane Kolodgy of Branford, CT.; grandsons Chandler, Jackson and Harrison of Clinton; granddaughter, Nicole Choquette of Hampton, NH; three great grandchildren; brother, Anthony and his wife Dotti Kolodgy of Texas; sister, Mary and her husband John Traphofner of Florida. He was also the brother-in-law of Maida Kolodgy of Florida.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover.
