Obituary

JAMES CLETUS “JIM” SIMS, 85, passed away December 11, 2016.

He was a retired employee of Corhart Refractories, a former employee of Hertz Car Rental, a member of VFW Lodge #5421, a member of Incarnation Catholic Church, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Preceding him in death was his son, Kermit Sims.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary Rose (Clemons) Sims; his sons, Ray (Vernice), Wendell (Pam) and David (Bonnie) Sims; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Clevie (Geri), Sylvester, and Johnnie Sims (Eva); and sisters, Barbara Piece Robinson, Bernetta Higdon (Milburn) and Brenda Bratcher (Donnie).

His funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
