Mildred “Millie” E. (Lavallee) Bonanno, 87 of Lawrence, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. She was the beloved wife of Michael V. Bonanno, to whom she was married for 41 years.
Millie was born in Westford, MA on March 16, 1929, the daughter of Francis and Myrtle Lavallee. She graduated from Westford Academy and then from LaSalle College. She worked as a bookkeeper for Stones Department Store in Stoughton for over 30 years until her retirement in 1995. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, dining out, and shopping.
Millie will be deeply missed by her husband, Michael; her son, Walter F. Lyons and his wife, Linda, of Methuen; 4 grandchildren, Steven, Kelly, Douglas, and Derek; and 3 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Millie’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 4 PM until 8 PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
