Maria J. (Andrade) Silva, 81, of New Bedford died December 11, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Manuel Silva.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Jose G. and Ilidia (Britto) Andrade, she lived in New Bedford for many years.
Mrs. Silva was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was formerly employed by Cliftex for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. Silva was a very loving caring person with a wonderful generous heart.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Jose Silva and his wife Belmira of Lincoln, RI and Ben Silva of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Lidia Stepp and her husband Michael of San Antonio, TX, Laurinda Coleman and her husband Leonard of Middletown, NJ and Linda Fermino and her husband Scott of New Bedford; 12 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; several Godchildren, cousins and close friends.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
