Marilyn L. (Gorman) Ela, 85 of Walpole passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Norwood Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 64 years to Robert J. Ela.
Born on January 18, 1931 in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Elsa (Harberer) Gorman. Mrs. Ela grew up in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School.
Marilyn and Robert were married in November of 1952 and moved to Walpole in 1956 where they raised their family.
In their spare time Marilyn and her husband Robert travelled the country participating in Civil War reenactments where Marilyn was a photographer.
In addition to her husband Robert, Marilyn is survived by her two sons, James Ela and his wife Karen of Munroe, CT and Jay Ela and his wife Deborah of Franklin, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Michele, Jason, and Shawn Ela and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John Gorman of CA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 14 at 12 Noon in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street, Walpole.
Interment in Rural Cemetery will take place at a later time.
