Cassie C. (Cournavides) Gountanis of Winchester, 94, died on December 9, 2016. Cassie was the beloved wife of the late Sam G. Gountanis, her husband of 39 years, who passed away in 1989. Born in Manchester, NH, Cassie was the loving daughter of the late Demetrios and Kaleope Kournavides. She is predeceased by a brother, C. Basil Cornell. Cassie is survived by her daughter Carol G. Hazelton and her husband Robert of Marstons Mills, MA; her daughter Nancy G. Donaldson and her husband Scott of Winchester, MA; and her dearly beloved grandchildren Robert Hazelton, Rachel Donaldson and Hayley Donaldson. Cassie is survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and long-time friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 17 Meriam St., Lexington, MA on Wednesday, December 14 at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
