Russell Dale Ashmore, Sr., age 78, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. He was born December 7, 1938 in Water Valley, MS to the late Estle Russell and Margaret Dunn Ashmore. Dale was a member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley, MS. He owned and operated R&D Services, an Air Conditioning and Heating Repair business founded in 1994 and located in Southaven, MS. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Dale loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed drag racing and was an avid Ole Miss fan.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm on in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Bennie Turnage officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley with Daniel Ashmore, Raymond Ashmore, Jr., Rusty Ashmore, Zach Bice, Garrieth Calcote, Austin-Hunter Duykers, Jim Hutchison, Mike Moore and Layton Turpin serving as pallbearers.
Dale is survived by his wife of 58 years, Adelaide “Lee” Stovall Ashmore; his daughter, Mary Alice Turpin (Layton) ; two sons, Russell Dale Ashmore, Jr. (Susie) and Raymond Ashmore, Sr. (Janet) all of Southaven, MS; his sister, Lura Dell Moore of Bartlett, TN; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
