Frankie Carter Apperson, 83, of Tifton passed away Friday, December 9, 2016, at Pruitt Health Care in Forsyth. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John Thomas officiating. Mrs. Apperson will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 11, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jeff Giddens, Shane Busbee, Michael McPherson, Steve Spradley, Josh Cook and Adam Rainwater will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 15, 1932 in Baxley, Mrs. Apperson was the daughter of the late Linton Carter and Martha Carter Carter. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Sheffield, Jr.; her second husband, Marvin McGill; her third husband, Charlie Apperson; and a daughter, Vicki Lovett. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Baptist Church in Tifton. She was one of three surviving children out of a family of fourteen children.
Mrs. Apperson is survived by one son, John W. Sheffield, III of Forsyth; four daughters and three sons-in-law, June and Adam Rainwater of McRae, Lori and Steve Spradley of Byron, Jackie McPherson of Tifton and Pam and Jeff Giddens of Warner Robins; two sisters, Lorene Cason of Vidalia and Evelyn Baxley of Brunswick; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
