Remo Castagnetti of Medford died on Wednesday, December 7, at Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston. Born and raised in Monastero, Italy, he was the son of the late Domenico and Marianna (Grandi) Castagnetti. Remo moved to the U.S. in 1963. He settled in Medford and was employed by in the field of construction.
Remo was the beloved husband of Maria (Grandi) Castagnetti, and devoted father of George Castagnetti of Medford, Lino Castagnetti and his wife Antonella of Revere, Robert Castagnetti and his wife Lori, Anna Piccolo and her husband Vincent, all of Medford. He was the loving grandfather of Anthony, Nicholas, and Robert Castagnetti Jr., and Nicholas and Michael Piccolo. Remo was the brother of Pina Silva and her husband Battista of Canada, and the late Severino, Candida, Ida, Maria, Irma, Remo, and Maria. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, December 10 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Friday, December 9, from 4 through 8 PM.
