Obituary


Domenic V. Tutela, age 78, of Lowell formerly of Wilmington, beloved and devoted husband of Joan Baldassari Tutela, his wife of 59 years, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2016, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was the son of the late Alfred & Antonetta (LaRiccia) Tutela. Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by his 4 children; Tami Dristiliaris & her husband George of Dracut, Karen Grondine & her husband Alfred of Dracut, Alfred Tutela & his girlfriend Joni Ratto of Dracut, and Marlene MacEachern & her husband Scott of Lowell. His siblings include Elizabeth DiNapoli of Woburn, Alfred Tutela of Florida, and Bernadette Peppe of Medford.

He was the proud Papa of his grandchildren, Nicholas & his wife Crystal, Daniel & his wife Kingsley, Alexis & her husband Rich, Aaron & his wife Morgan, Shawn, Bryan, Bobby & his wife Melanie, Alanna, Jenessa, Domenic & his wife Stephanie, Sabrina, Gavin, and the late Adam. Great Grandfather of Quinton, Nicholas, Teddy, Alice, Brayden, Aidan, Brennan, Connor, Declan, Eva, Liam, Avery, Addison, Quinn and Keegan. Loving son-In-Law of Mary (Gallo) Baldassari Parziale of Revere, and is further survived by a very large extended family of many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Domenic was a graduate of Northeastern University. He was a successful Professional Civil/Environmental Engineer and Architect and the President of Tutela Engineering Associates, Inc. in Wilmington, MA, and Providence, RI. He was a member of many professional engineering organizations, including NEWPCA, WPCF, BSCE, MWWA, NEWWA, CSI, NWPCA and AWWA. He was a past member of Wilmington Kiwanis and the Wilmington Jaycees.

Domenic loved his life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, photographing his family, attending social events with Joan, and he enjoyed all family gatherings. In recent years he absolutely loved spending winters in sunny Florida with his wife Joan.

The family wishes to thank Lowell General Hospital Cancer Care Center, Trinity Ambulance, Lowell Police and Firefighters, and the entire staff of doctors and nurses at Lowell General Hospital for their care and compassion.

Visiting hours will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Wilmington, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. William Church, 1351 Main St., Tewksbury, MA at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with internment at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington, MA. At the wishes of the family, donations may be made to Lowell General Hospital Cancer Care Center, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854.
