Rose J. (Meninno) Walker age 93 of E. Bridgewater died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Lifecare Center of W. Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late Edwin T. Walker for 49 years. Born and raised in Avon she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Josephine (Puopolo) Meninno. After graduating from Avon High School, Rose went on to the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She worked at Meninno Mushroom Farm, a family business for many years. She later became proprietor of Bud’s Variety Store on Warren Ave. in Brockton along with her husband.
Rose was a long time member of St. Margaret’s Women’s Guild and was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She played piano and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She was most proud of her family and enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her children, Maureen Petrucci and her husband William of E. Bridgewater, Elaine Kelly and her husband Jay of Bridgewater and Jane Colombo and her husband Peter of E. Bridgewater; 4 grandchildren, Alicia Hamelburg and her husband Eric, William Petrucci, Jr, Caitlin Colombo Cummings and her husband Chris and Peter E. Colombo; 2 great grandchildren Wyatt and Reagan Hamelburg. She was also the sister of the late Thomas Meninno and Joseph Meninno.
A private graveside service was held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Pine Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made in Rose’s name to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St, W. Bridgewater, MA 02379.
