Obituary

CHICOPEE – Lucille R. “Peanuts” (Peloquin) Lamy, 83, a longtime resident of Cochran Street in the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee and later a resident of McKinley House in Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, December 5, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at her home in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Ludger Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on December 15, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Rose (Giroux) Peloquin. She was raised and schooled in Chicopee and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was employed for 35 years as a packer at the former Rock Tenn Manufacturing Company in Chicopee. She was a communicant of the former Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls and a former member of the Chicopee Bowling League. Most of all, she was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Roger E. Lamy who was Called Home on February 11, 1999. They were married on June 2, 1951 at the former Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 47 years of happiness together. Lucille will be greatly missed by her devoted nieces and caregivers, Jackie L. Sienkiewicz and her husband, Mark, of Easthampton, Pauline M. Tilbe and her husband, Chuck, of Chicopee with whom she lived and Lynn M. Moreau and her husband, Gerry Paquette, of Chicopee. In addition, she leaves her two loving sisters, Lorraine Perreault of Holyoke and Gloria Frasco of Chicopee; and several dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Lamy and Peloquin families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her two loving brothers, Rene Peloquin and Albert Peloquin; and her three loving sisters, Rita Shea, Gladys Moreau and Jeannette Bowler. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 5 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private for her family. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Foundation for TJO Animals, 66 Industry Avenue, Suite 3, Springfield, MA 01104.
