Obituary

AUBURN-John F. Lynch, 60, passed away Monday, December 5 in UMASS Medical Center.

He leaves four children; Jessica and her husband, Brian Coleman of Holden, Jeremy Lynch of Oxford, Jaclyn Lynch and her fiance, Kyle Powers of Auburn and Justin and his wife, Lindsay Lynch of Holden and their mother, Barbara Lynch of Worcester; John’s wife and soulmate of 13 years, Nancy Jean (Pollock) Lynch passed away in 2004. He also leaves his two step-children, Norman Tisdell and his wife, Mary of Jacksonville, FL and Robert Tisdell of Worcester; eleven grandchildren, Gabrielle, Zoe, Dennis, Ailish, Meredith, Charlotte, Isabella, Hailey, McKenna, Madeline and Alana; his fiance, Gail Reyell of Worcester; five siblings, Joanne Lynch of Worcester, Michael and his wife, Ann Marie Lynch of Worcester, Kevin and his wife, Colleen Lynch of Merrimack, NH, Eileen Lynch of Spencer and Christopher Lynch of Worcester and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Eileen (O’Donnell) Lynch.

John was a paramedic with the Emergency Medical Service at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester. He also seved on the Critical Incedent Stress Management team, Regional DMAT team and was an EMT and paramedic examiner for the state. He dedicated years of his life to the City of Worcester and was a generous and giving man. In retirement, his passion was teaching and mentoring students how to save lives.

John was a former president of the Auburn Youth and Family Services and served on the board of directors of You Inc. He attended the Transplant Olympics in 2003 and was a staunch and passionate advocate for organ donation, reminding everyone to be an organ donor. He was a legend and a superhero to his family with the world’s most contagious laugh. John was a dedicated Union brother and will be remembered as a mentor to future EMTs and Paramedics.

The Funeral will be on Friday, December 9 from CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 10am at St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Visiting Hours are Thursday, December 8 from 4 to 8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Worcester EMS Relief Assoc., PO Box 81, Worcester, 01613 or to St. John’s Food for the Poor Program, 40 Temple St., Worcester, 01604.
