Alan R. Klenner, 67, of Lawrence, MA passed away on December 2, 2016 after a brief illness at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Alan was an honorable family man who was cherished and loved by all. He was the beloved son of the late, Robert A. Klenner and Marjorie J. (Dyer) Klenner. Alan grew up in Atkinson, NH and graduated from the Timberlane Regional High School with the Class of 1967. His devotion to the culinary arts started at the Culinary Institute of America graduating with the Class of 1969. Alan finished his lifelong career as a chef at the Andover Senior Center. From the mountains of Vermont to the shores of Maine, Alan was an avid camper who travelled extensively with his dogs, Kitzel and Dakota.
Alan is survived by his longtime devoted companion, Barbara Lahey of Lawrence. He was the devoted father to Jennifer Lynn Merrick and her husband, Kevin, of Fremont, NH and Dane'a Ann Klenner and her partner, Dave Rainey, of Bow, NH. Alan was also the cherished step-father to Caroline Blouin and her husband, Daniel, of Lawrence, MA and Michael Lahey of Lawrence, MA. He was the loving grandfather to Nicholas and Zachary Merrick, Donovan and Aidyn Rainey, and Sophia and Daniel Blouin. Alan was the brother to Barbara Klenner of Methuen and Paula Klenner of Atkinson, NH.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Wed., Dec. 7, 2016 from 3-6 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA 01844. Interment will be private.
