Ola Register, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Pangle and the Rev. Edsel Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 6PM until 9 PM, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Register was born August 20, 1928, in Turner County, Georgia, to the late Clarence & Lula Mae Swain Murray. She lived in the community all of her life and raised seven children. Mrs. Register was a seamstress and worked with Fitzgerald underwear as an inspector, the Berlin Corporation and also the Cotton Mill. She was a member of Eastside Holiness Baptist Church. Mrs. Register loved the Lord and her family.
She is survived by her two sons: David & Patricia Register, Jimmy & Kathy Register; three daughters: Joyce R. Pfeifle, Mary Lou R. Biggs, Julia R. Ray & Earl, all of Fitzgerald; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, William “Bill” Murray of Fitzgerald; three sisters: Frances Crozier of Fitzgerald, Minnie Ruth Coker of Dade City, Florida, and Barbara Bailey of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, J. W. Register, two sons: Roger Wayne Register and Larry Donald Register; a grandson, Dr. Wesley Dean Smith; four brothers and two sisters.
