Obituary


SCARBOROUGH- James William Lacourse (Jim) passed away surrounded by family at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on December 3, 2016 at the age of 70.
Jim is predeceased by his father James Harold Lacourse, his mother Jacqueline (Tilton) Lacourse, and most recently his twin brother John (Jack) Wayne Lacourse.
Jim is lovingly remembered by his children Jim Lacourse, Sherrin Vail, and Jessica Corrigan, his grandchildren Cameron, Jamie, Seamus, Ivy, and Finn, his brother Jeffrey Lacourse, his nephews Michael Lacourse and Ryan MacVane, and his nieces Jackie Barriere, Jennifer Lenkutis, and Lindsey Lacourse.  Jim is survived by a longtime companion Carol Bardon.
Jim was born in Newport, Rhode Island on August 10, 1946. After graduating from Scarborough (Maine) High School in 1965 he joined the Air Force, serving in Viet Nam as a Canine Handler.  He was honorably released from active duty in May of 1969. 
He was married to Sheryl (Gack) for 13 years and had 3 children. 
Jim was a solid provider who worked several jobs over the years, most notably at Jordan Meats, from where he retired from full time work in 1994.
He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, and often camping in Hiram, Maine.  Many of his favorite times were spent around a campfire.  He took immense pride in his children and family.  He very much enjoyed being the older twin to his brother Jack.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday Dec. 8, at 12 Noon, at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Online condolence messages can be submitted at the funeral home's website, www.mainefuneral.com
