Joseph R. Ruel, age 86, passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on Dec 2, 2016. He was born in Springfield on Aug. 26, 1930 to the late Eugene and Yvonne (Gregoire) Ruel. Joseph served in the Army attaining the rank of Sergeant during the Korean War. He later worked as a general supervisor at Milton Bradley before retiring. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa (L’Esperance) Ruel who passed away in 2014 also by one brother, Robert Ruel and two sisters Yvette Rossi and Pauline Skowera. He leaves two sons, Mark Ruel of Agawam and James Ruel and his wife Marlene of Somers, CT; one daughter Karen Sicard and her husband Dana of South Hadley; six grandchildren, Tiffany Mendoza, Matthew and Jolene Brennan and Michael, Sarah and Joseph Ruel and four great grandchildren, Amaiya and Aviana Mendoza, Jaxson Brennan and Mackenzie Henley and one brother, Normand Ruel of Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Tues, Dec. 6, 2016 at 11 AM in Mary, Mother of Hope Church in Springfield. Burial will follow with military honors in St Rose de Lima cemetery.
