Margaret Mary (Hickey) Kelly, 90, lifelong resident of Worcester, died on November 18, 2016.
Margaret was the daughter of Dennis and Nora G. (McCarthy) Hickey of Worcester. She was the sister of the late Helen A. Cabanzo, Mary E. Hickey, Kathleen MacDougall, and Dennis F. Hickey.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert F. Kelly, M.D. and four children; Dennis F. Kelly, Theresa A. Kelly, Margaret M. Zaccaro and her husband Paul, and Robert F. Kelly.
Margaret graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps and was employed as a Registered Nurse at Worcester City Hospital. For many years she was an active member of the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and co-chaired the Scholarship Fund. She was also the editor of The Lamp newsletter. Margaret was a competitive bridge player and a member of the Cavendish Club, acquiring substantial points toward Life Master.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on November 21, 2016 at Christ the King Church. She was interred in St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. A donation may be made in Margaret’s memory to the Fund for Boston College High School, 150 Morrissey Blvd, Boston, MA 02125-9934.
