Alfred M. Higuera, age 83, of Brockton died unexpectedly November 19, 2016 at Signature Healthcare. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth I. (Carlson) Higuera. Alfred was born in Barre, VT a son of the late Alfredo and Manolita (Perral) Higuera. He had lived in Brockton for over 50 years and previously resided in Randolph and Quincy.
During the Korean Conflict, Alfred served in the US Army and was stationed in Japan. Following his military service, he graduated from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance and Northeastern University. He retired in 1998 after a career as an accountant with Browning-Ferris Industries in Boston and Old Colony Crushed Stone and Construction Co. in Quincy.
Alfred enjoyed ballroom, swing and disco dancing; golf, fly-tying and fishing and walks in the woods. He also enjoyed assembling and repairing golf clubs. He was very passionate about the causes he supported: his religion, the US Constitution and protecting our “freedom of choice”.
Alfred leaves behind his children Alan M. Higuera and his wife Heidi of South Easton, and Paul M. Higuera and his wife Pam of Brockton; 5 grandchildren Nicole Shea and her husband Jeremy, and Michael, Ashley, Victoria and Joseph Higuera; 3 great grandchildren William and Nolan Shea, and Emmitt Higuera as well as 1 sister Gloria Bugden of Pepperell. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will held in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree on Thursday, December 8th at 11:30am.
