Obituary

Mary A. (Driscoll) Ducey, a 48 year resident of South Boston and a 50 year resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at her home in South Boston. She was 98 years of age.

Mary was born in Boston on October 5, 1918, a daughter of the late Edward Driscoll and Lena Ellen (O'Connor) Driscoll. She grew up in South Boston and graduated from South Boston High School in 1935. Mary worked on the assembly line for Gillette Company in South Boston for over 10 years before devoting her time entirely to her family. Mary loved gardening, knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, but she loved her family most of all.

Mary is the beloved wife of the late Leo E. Ducey Jr. (Retired Boston Police Department). She is the devoted mother of Mary Tomkewicz and her husband Chuck of Melrose, Leo E. Ducey III and his wife Calice of Windham, New Hampshire and Catherine Hurl and her husband Chuck of South Boston. She is the loving Grammy to Matthew, Cassie, Katie, Bryan, Stephanie, and Bridget. She is the dear aunt of Beverly, Catherine, the late Patricia and many other loving nieces & nephews. She is the beloved sister of the late John Galvin, Esther Rosenthal, Catherine Driscoll and Thomas Driscoll.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Funeral on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 9 AM. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. CHARLESTOWN followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 AM. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Mary's visiting hours will be on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM. in the funeral home.
