New Bedford – Dolores Ferreira, age 86, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of Joseph Ferreira and the daughter of the late William Arthur and Jessuena (DeSouza) Benoit.
Mrs. Ferreira was a lifelong resident of this area and worked as a Licensed Practial Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital for 25 years until her retirement.
Her surviving family includes her husband, Joseph Ferreira, of New Bedford; 6 children: Thomas Ferreira of North Carolina, David Ferreira of New Bedford, Linda Blanchard of Georgia, Joanne Rose, Debra Ferreira and Sharon Allen, all of New Bedford; a sister, Beverly Franklin of Florida; as well as 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by several siblings.
