John A. Goralski, Sr., 97 of Dawn Blvd, Woonsocket, died Tuesday surrounded by his family in the Hopkins Manor North Providence. He was the husband of the late Anna (Gudz) Goralski.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Frank and Madeline Goralski. A lifelong Woonsocket resident, he had worked as a Superintendent with H. Brickle and Son, Inc. before retiring. He had served in the United States Army during WW II, receiving numerous awards and commendations to include the Bronze Star for heroic duty.
He is survived by his sons, John A. Goralski, Jr. of Providence and Robert A. Goralski and his wife Lorrie of Smithfield, his Grandchildren, Diane Giguere, Laura Goralski-Cole, Alexandra and Andrew Goralski, his Great-Grandchildren, Michael Giguere, Sadie and Sofie Cole.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:15am in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 74 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in the RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 74 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
