Barbara K. (Kohn) Flynn, 83 of Medway passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of James J. Flynn III, who passed away in November, 1993.
Born in Newton, MA on June 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucine (Seresse) Kohn. Barbara was raised in Newton and moved to Medway in 1960 with her husband Jim where they raised their two children.
Barbara worked in Medway for many years. She first worked at Thayer Pharmacy and then for a local dentist before retiring. After retiring she and her husband lived in Egypt for several years and traveled Europe. After returning to the states she continued to travel whenever she could.
She had many friends and was always doing for others. She loved to shop and travel.
She is survived by her son, James G. Flynn of Nashua, NH, her daughter Susan L. Flynn of Millis, MA, and her granddaughter Kelly Elizabeth Flynn.
She is also survived by her sister Sandra Russell of TN and was the sister of the late Patricia Cole.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, December 3 at 9:15AM at the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St., Medway.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.
