Madeline E Healey (Morrison) of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, in the company of her family. She was 90 years old. Born on July 27, 1926 to Harland and Winifred (Highland) Morrison in Woodland (Baileyville) Maine, she moved to East Boston as a child and graduated from East Boston High School. Along with her husband she moved to Winthrop after WWII, where she loved raising her family near the ocean. She was the devoted wife of the late Philip J. Healey, loving mother Sharyn M. Pulsifer and her husband David of Chatham, MA, and Laurie A. Acone of Winthrop, MA. Cherished “Nana” of David E. and Jeffrey M. Pulsifer and James M. and Ryan P. Acone, as well as great-grandchildren Colton, Conlin and Kaleb Pulsifer. Dear sister of the late Frank Morrison and Thomas Newhook. Survived by many nieces & nephews, she was also the former mother-in-law of the late James Acone Sr. Over the years, she enthusiastically held several jobs outside the home, including positions at GE, Jordan Marsh, Boston Music, and WMJX. She enjoyed reading, quilting, and walking, though nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family. Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop, on Friday, December 9, from 9-11am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow in Winthrop Cemetery.
