NH, Moultonborough---James “Jim” D. Danahy,77, formerly of Chelmsford, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy illness.
Jim was the son of the late Dennis and Louise (Meuse) Danahy. Jim was born in Everret, MA on May 13, 1939 and raised in Melrose. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1958. Jim went on to serve in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Jim spent his career in the printing industry, having founded his own business, JDanahy Printing of Chelmsford, and, later, working for Eagle Offset Printing in Lawrence.
Jim enjoyed spending time at the lake in the “camp” that he built with his family. He also enjoyed boating with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife, Deanna “Dee” (Drouin) Danahy with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage; his children Dennis Danahy and his wife, Jennifa of Townsend, Carrie McCall and her husband Michael of Chelmsford, and Allan and his wife, Nancy of Chelmsford. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jessica, Thomas and Colin Danahy and Ronan, Caitlin and Braeden McCall; his sister, Joan Cannalonga of Grafton, a dear sister-in-law, Joan Brulotte, and brothers-in-law, Allan and Paul Drouin and Arthur Danyow, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Jim is predeceased by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 NH Rt 25, Meredith, NH.
