Mary Elizabeth Roberts, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Roberts was born November 11, 1923, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Grover Cleveland & Mary Adell Ussery Adamson. She lived in the community all of her life and was a licensed insurance agent. She worked with L. E. Justice Insurance, Bud Strickland Insurance and Taylor & Towson Insurance in Fitzgerald. Mrs. Roberts enjoyed fishing, cats, gardening and especially Mexico Beach, Florida. Mrs. Roberts was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth R. Peterson of Fitzgerald and her son, Larry Hankins & Shirley of Tifton; five grandchildren: Philip Hankins, Kris Peterson, Drew Peterson, Ellie Peterson and Chris Peterson; two great-grandchildren: Mallory Hankins and Macy Hankins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Roberts; three brothers: Roy Adamson, Grady Adamson and Curtis Adamson and a son-in-law, George Peterson.
