Susan Halloran, of Haverhill, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Susan was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Halloran, of South Lawrence, Susan graduated from Saint Mary High School, Boston University and Lesley College Graduate School. Having sustained a spinal cord injury at age 20, Susan worked to educate people on disability issues and advocate for the rights of the disability community. She co-founded and directed The Northeast Independent Living Program. Susan was also employed at the National Spinal Cord Injury Foundation.
Susan leaves her best friend and the love of her life - her husband James Winstead. She will also be remembered by a sister, Maryellen (Mazie) Chaisson and her husband James, of Methuen, her brother Arthur and his wife Genevieve of Lawrence, her brother Richard of Lawrence, and a sisters-in-law Carolyn Halloran of Salem, NH and Brenda Halloran Manzi of Methuen. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Catherine Kelley and Cornelia Dow, as well as brothers James, Lawrence, Joseph, Francis, and William. Susan also leaves a large extended family.

The family invites you to join them for a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish-St. Theresa’s Church, Plymouth St. Methuen on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM. A Private Interment service will take place at a later date.
