Obituary

Noel K. Spitzmesser, 92, of Anderson passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus. He was born on March 21, 1924, in Grant County to Ira and Ethel (Dickerson) Spitzmesser.

After serving in the U. S. Marine Corp, Noel worked as a machine operator at Delco Remy for 38 years before retiring in 1979.

He enjoyed fishing and spending his winters in Arizona. He was a member of Elks Lodge in Elwood and the VFW in Anderson.

Noel is survived by his children, Howard (Karen) Spitzmesser, Janet Spitzmesser and Julie Spitzmesser Biddle, all of Anderson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mick Zimmerman) Spitzmesser, Heather Ligon, Abby (Jody) West, Mathew (Kristin) Pherson and Dori Pherson; great grandchildren, Avery Ligon, Haydn Pugh, Kaylee West, Caleb Pherson, Nathan West, Carter Pherson and Michael Motsinger, sisters, Joan Ford and Joyce Brown, brother-in-law, Clifford Brown, several nieces and nephews and four step-children and their families, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Noel was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Betty Lou (Moore) Spitzmeser in 1984, second wife, Marjorie (Heflin) Spitzmesser in 2015; sisters, Carmen Bauner and Carolyn Shepard, brothers-in-law, Billie Bauner, Bill Shepard and Albert Ford.

Noel's family would like to thank Bethany Pointe Health Campus for the care that was given to him while he resided at their facility and also St. Vincent Hospice.

Service will be at 11 am on Friday, December 2, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Micheal Thompson officiating. Burial will follow Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Military graveside rites.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and 10 to 11 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Anderson Regional Foundation for Hospice.
