Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Cora L. (Wilson) Gibson, 85, a longtime resident of Los Angeles Street in the Glenwood section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, November 27, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at Care One at Redstone in East Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Zanesville, Ohio on October 27, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Renold E. and Pearl L. (Mahaffey) Wilson. She was raised in Zanesville and graduated from John Glenn High School. In 1951, she moved to Springfield where she lived for most of the remainder of her life. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Aulda O.”Gibby” Gibson who was Called Home on January 3, 1994. She leaves her four loving children, Wendy S. Pietras and her husband, Steven, of Ludlow, Dawn M. Gibson of Monson, Eve M. Gibson of West Springfield and Brandon J. Gibson of Springfield; her three cherished grandchildren, Nicole A. Rancitelli, Anthony M. Rancitelli and Keith M. Gibson; her three dear sisters, Frances Bronker, Isabelle Stotts and Katherine Paul; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Gibson and Wilson families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, John Wilson; and her two dear sisters, Dorothy Lee and Shirley Clark. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Funeral Service on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in the Oak Garden of Bronze Section, 895 Parker Street, Springfield, MA 01129.
