Betty Lou (Kates) Haines, 77, of Anderson, died on November 26, 2016 at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born on March 24, 1939 in Livingston, TN to Willie and Fannie (Roark) Kates.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts and Native American Heritage.
Survivors include her 5 children, Tony Neff of Anderson, Mark Neff of Connelly Springs, NC, Tina (Charles) Wagner of Holtwood, PA, Victor Neff and Kevin Haines both of Anderson; 4 sisters, Willie Ferguson, Shelia (Steve) Leathers, Anita Kates, and Debbie Hunt all of Anderson; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 stepson, Bill Haines of Anderson; ex-husband and friend, Ben Neff of Claremont, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don Haines; brother, Harvey Kates; sister, Mary Hanshew; granddaughter, Traci Wagner; step-daughter, Tammy Haines and a stepson, Donnie Haines.
There will be no visitation or services.
