Brockton - Irene Adams 99, formerly of East Bridgewater, died Saturday November 26 at the Baypointe Skilled Nursing Center in Brockton.
Born in Boston, and raised in Whitman, she was the daughter of the late George and Elsie (French) Adams and had attended Whitman schools.
Prior to her retirement, Irene had worked for over 20 years as private residence house keeper.
She had resided with her sister Pauline and her late husband Robert Singleton helping to raise her niece and two nephews and became lovingly referred to as their “Second Mom”.
After moving, Irene became an active member of the Baypointe community, signing up for “any and all activities” offered.
She is survived by her siblings Pauline Singleton of East Bridgewater, Roland Adams of Rochester and Dana Adams formerly of Whitman. She is also survived by her niece Shirley Singleton of Essex, and her nephews Robert Singleton of East Bridgewater and Scott Singleton of Whitman. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews throughout the country. She was predeceased by her siblings Sheila Ford, Louise Willett and Mickey Adams.
Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service (date to be announced) in the Northville Cemetery, Oak Street, East Bridgewater. By request of the family all other services are omitted.
