John Martin “Jackie” Lema, 67 of Plymouth, Ma passed away after a long illness on November 26that home. He was born in Savin Hill, son of John M. Lema and Katherine (Tully) Lema. He graduated from Boston Technical High School and served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1969-1973. He attended Boston College and was a franchisee for Lil’ Peach convenience store for 32 years with stores in Roslindale, West Roxbury, Hyde Park and Needham. He was a resident of Milton for 23 years. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Lema, father of Andrea K. Lema of Plymouth, Amy D. Lema of CT, Jill M. Suarez of Franklin, and Laurie A. Bonavita of Milbury. Brother of Michael Lema of Hyde Park and Stephen Lema of Taunton. Grandfather of Laura, Ana, Gabriela, Alma, Ryan and Alyssa and “wiggles” his much-loved pet. Funeral mass at St. Agatha Church, Milton on Thursday morning December 1st at 10:30. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave Milton on Wednesday 4-8 pm. Burial at VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era.
