Shirley E. Straight, of Greenville died on Saturday, November 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert E Straight for 58 years before his death in 2013. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred (Phillips) Smith.
Shirley was a retired employee of the State of RI assigned to The Office of the Adjutant General for 17 years.
She is survived by her devoted daughters: Linda A Marcello and her husband Arthur of Barrington and Judith E Maccarone and her husband Raymond of Greenville, her two Grandchildren Jennifer Tassoni Short, and her husband Kevin Short, and Thomas Marcello. She also leaves her Great-Grandson, Robert Short.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 10:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Holy Eucharist in her memory will be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Greenville. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016, from 9:00 A.M. - 10:30 am.
