SOKEL, John T. Of Wayland and New Seabury formerly of Weston, passed away on November 25, 2016 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of the late Anne J. (MacNeil) Sokel. Devoted father of Susan A. Bonner of Wayland and Karen E. Sokel of Southborough. Grandfather of Robert, Ian, Mark, Kurt, and Derek Bonner. Brother of Robert Sokel and his wife Susan of Stuart, FL.
John was a CPA. Senior Control Analyst for Raytheon Corp., Waltham. Comptroller for Mitre Corp., Bedford. President of Penn Culvert Company 1968-2016. Graduate of Babson College class of 1949. Member of the Weston Golf Club. World War II Veteran, Storekeeper First Class, U.S. Navy. Member of the New Seabury Club.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in The Good Shepherd Parish (St. Zepherin’s Church) Wayland at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Monday, Nov. 28 from 4-8pm. Interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
