Obituary

LOWELL—Madeline G. (Finnegan) (Tuttle) Thompson, 97 years old, died early Saturday morning at the Palm Manor Nursing Home, in Chelmsford. She was the wife of the late Perry G. Thompson, who died in 1954.

She was born in Lowell, on July 25, 1908, a daughter of the late Michael and Eliza (Murphy) Finnegan, and was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Lowell High School, where she was a member of the Girl Officers.

Mrs. Thompson was a lifelong resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell and a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Surviving here are a son and daughter-in-law: David G. and Julia Thompson, of Lowell; four grandchildren and their spouses: Karin E., and David Cormier, of Chelmsford; Jeffrey D., and Debra Thompson, of Littleton; Dean G. and Dawn Thompson, of Winchendon; and Darin M. and Nicole Thompson, of Shirley; nine great-grandchildren; a sister: Bernadette Rhyno, of Falmouth; a sister-in-law: Cynthia Thompson-Birmingham, of Fort Collins, CO; Among her nieces and nephews are Borden Zwicker, and his wife Beatrice, of Lowell; and a special friend: Joseph Scanlon, of Littleton.

She was the sister of the late Sally LaPierre.

Friends may call on Tuesday morning, August 16th, from 9 to 10:30 AM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to follow at 11 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in the Edson Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either the Immaculate Conception Church; 3 Fayette Street; Lowell, MA 01852; OR the Saints Memorial Medical Center; Cancer Center; 1 Hospital Drive; Lowell, MA 01852.
