DUDLEY - Karol K. Gago, 60, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston, surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife of 39 years, Donata E. (Starzynska) Gago; 3 sons, Dariusz S. Gago and his wife Iwona, Michal Gago and Daniel Gago, all of Dudley; 2 grandchildren, Lena and Amelia; one sister, Malgorzata Rucinska of Poland; one brother, Adam Gago, also of Poland; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Sokolow Podlaski, Poland and raised in Treblinka, the son of Roman and Barbara (Kowalewski) Gago. He moved to Dudley in 1978. He graduated from a technical high school.
He served in the Polish Army as a corporal.
Mr. Gago first worked as a train conductor for 2 years in Poland. He then was a machine operator at Johnson Corrugated in Thompson for several years. He was an electrician for 2 local companies before founding his own business, Karol K. Gago Electric, in 1990. He was the wire inspector for the Town of Dudley for several years.
He was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church. He was actively involved as a former vice-president and presently as a member of the Board of Directors of the PACC in Webster. He enjoyed outdoor activities: hunting, fishing and skiing. He also liked four-wheeling. His grandchildren were the light of his life.
The funeral will be held Monday, November 28, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and again on Monday, November 28, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
