Mamie Rainey Gray, 80, of Tifton, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016, at Cypress Pond Assisted Living in Tifton. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Gray at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Jackson Moore will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 26, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Joel Presley, Clay Childers, Hunter Gaskins, Taylor Klepal, Ken Rainey and Avery Butterworth will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 5, 1936 in Cook County, Mrs. Gray was the daughter of the late Hilliard Mitchell Rainey and Susan Ethel Oliver Rainey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Vernon Gray, who passed away in 2009; four brothers; and four sisters. She was retired from the medical profession and a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gray is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cindy Gray of Loganville; one daughter and son-in-law, Deena and Donnie Childers of Tifton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Brittany and Taylor Klepal, Jessica Gray, Allison and Joel Presley, Hunter Gaskins and Clay and Kayla Childers; and seven great-grandchildren, Joel Michael, Jaden, Peyton, Ashton, Luke, Paxton and Jack.
