Obituary

FRAMINGHAM: Herbert Clifford “Pete” Harrington, 89, passed away on November 21, 2016 at the Sudbury Pines Extended Care Facility in Sudbury. He was the last of eleven children born to the late Charles R. Harrington and Alice J. (Kelley) Harrington of Wayland.
Pete was born on June 16, 1927 in the Harrington homestead on Plain Road in Wayland. As a child, he attended the local public schools and worked on the family farm. Later, Pete delivered milk for Hood Dairy in Somerville and was also sole Proprietor/Manager of a gas station in Sudbury for several years. As a sideline, Pete enjoyed the world of auctioneering and was trained in it as well.
In 1953, Pete married Dorothy May (Reeves) of Prince Edward Island, Canada. They have resided in Framingham for over 63 years.
Pete’s past is traceable to the 1630’s when three Harrington brothers came from England to Massachusetts. His progeny included Jonathan Harrington of Lexington who died in the Revolutionary War.
Besides his wife Dorothy May (Reeves) Harrington of Framingham, he is survived by his sister-in-law Ruth Harrington of Wayland, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and Dorothy’s family in Canada.
At the request of his family, services will be private.
