Michael A. Gronlund, Sr., 69, of Derry, NH, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Billerica, MA on July 21, 1947, a son of Anselm and Gloria M. (Elsavich) Gronlund, and had been a resident of Derry since 1984. Michael enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially to the White Mountains. He enjoyed coaching little league, deep sea fishing and watching sci-fi movies. He was an excellent chef and handyman. The best times in his life were spent with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Frances Gronlund of Derry; three sons, Shane Gronlund of Manchester, NH, Michael Gronlund of CA, and Mark Gronlund of CA; daughter, Michelle Gronlund; five grandchildren; two sisters, Gayle Gronlund and Karen Cote; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Diodati as well has his beloved dog, Ziva.
Private services will be held by the family in the spring. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01710.
