Raymond Anthony Rezendes, 61, of Raynham, passed away November 20th, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He lived his life to the fullest despite being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) eleven years ago. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Luis Rezendes of Sao Miguel, Portugal and Virginia (Pereira) Rezendes of Fall River. He joined the US Army in 1972 and served active duty until 1979 and continued his service to his country through the US Army Reserves as a Sargent. Raymond was employed as a Union Electrician out of Local 223 for over twenty years. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends, especially his three children, three grandchildren, and his beloved wife of forty-two years, Alice (Carpenter) Rezendes, of Raynham. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching his Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Heather Rezendes and her husband Stephen Koup of West Roxbury, his daughter Jennifer (Rezendes) Farrell and her husband Scott and their daughter Emily of Taunton, and his son Eric Rezendes and his wife Erin and their children Owen and Garrett of East Taunton. He was the brother of Mario Rezendes and his wife Betty, Bertha (Rezendes) DaCosta and her husband Gil, the late Francis Rezendes and his wife Barbara, and Joseph Rezendes and his wife Linda, all of Taunton, and the brother in-law of Marie (Carpenter) LeClerc and her husband Paul of Raynham. Additionally, he had many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, November 25th from 4-7 pm in the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. Taunton, MA 02780. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham, MA on Saturday, November 26th at 10 am. Burial will be at the Pleasant Street Cemetery in Raynham.
