Joyce C. (Butts) Faria, 83 of Westport died Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Island Terrace Nursing Home, Lakeville. She was wife of the late Edwin L. Faria.
Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Frank C. and Veronica I. (Mastera) Butts, she had lived in Westport for most of her life. Prior to retirement in 1996, she was a purchasing manager for the former J.C. Rhodes of New Bedford. Mrs. Faria was a charter member of the Professional Secretaries Association of New Bedford and a member of the Purchasing Members Association of New Bedford and Fall River.
Survivors include 2 step-daughters: Louise Faria of TX and Jean Pugliese of Gadsden, AL; a sister: Marcia A. Webb of Frostproof, FL; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Luella I. Kirby.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
