Ellena L. (Brightman) Haskell, 81, of New Bedford died November 18, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Allen C. Haskell.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Sherod B. and Ellen M. (Shard) Brightman, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Fairhaven.
Mrs. Haskell was an integral part of the family horticultural business with her late husband Allen C. Haskell.
She enjoyed bowling and knitting.
Survivors include her son, David A. Haskell and his wife Alyson of Fairhaven; 2 daughters, Rebecca L. Akers and her husband Mark of West Fargo, ND and Felecia M. Cruz of New Bedford; a brother, Paul D. Brightman of Dartmouth; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Phyllis I. Brightman.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Dartmouth. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 22nd from 4-8 PM.
