Dennis Russell Arrington, 61, of Tifton passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Dennis will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, November 21, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be at the residence at 288 H. M. Barry Road in Tifton.
Jerry Rutland, Wendall Arrington, Dickie Robbins, Stan Mercer, Randall Tillery and Ricky Hill will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Tucker, Arthur Perrin, Lawrence Day, Buster Mercer, Butch Coarsey, Randy Carr, Darrell Benson, Jacob Arrington, Herbie Benson, Reed Jones, Tony McBrayer, Stanley Arrington, Darrell Arrington, David Arrington, Travis Arrington, Thomas Hancock, Tommy Pritchett, Larry Weaver and Ricky Benson.
Born June 17, 1955 in Tift County, Dennis was the son of Mary Jo Benson Arrington of Tifton and the late Walter R. Arrington. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Arrington. Dennis was a devoted husband, daddy, "Papa D", son, brother and friend to all. He was a very respected, humble, honest and hard-working man. He loved his family and his two precious grandchildren were the "love of his life." He was a farmer and attended Tift Avenue Church of God. He had lived in Tift County all of his life.
In addition to his mother, Dennis is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda Mercer Arrington of Tifton; a daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Richard Robbins of Tifton; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Susan Arrington of Tifton; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and John Lipscomb, Donna and Richard Hill and Karen and Randall Tillery, all of Tifton; two grandchildren, Chloe Ann Robbins and Brodie Robbins, both of Tifton; and a host of nephews and nieces.
